Cougars Basketball Club are pleased to announce some notable new signings in a bid to strengthen their Division 1 and Division 2 squads for the upcoming season (to read their profiles click on their images):
Frank Lynch comes straight from last years Swansea Storm side that won the SWV League, Cup and the Terry Price Cup. Frank has previous experience not only with a number of South & West Wales teams but has played extensively in Germany winning many awards in most of the clubs he's been with. He has been a stalwart of West Wales Basketball for many years.
Sam Trueman will be joining the Cougars in late October upon his return from travelling around the world. In which time he has amongst other things visited Australia, USA, Egypt and managed a dive centre in Fiji. Sam has previously been an integral part of the West Wales Tropics, Carmarthen and ABC Gwent. As well as having played High School basketball in American Schools in North Africa. He has been a triallist with ACB teams Real Madrid, Estudiantes and Valladolid. He was also invited as a triallist for the 2009 GB u.20's.
David Hale comes straight from Abervalley Hurricanes, where he was the mainstay of the club as both a player and organiser. He has been top scorer for the Hurricanes over the last 3 seasons and was MVP in 2008 / 2009.
Ayron Fields has played for Baglan, Wearvalley and the North of England. He brings English National League experience with him to the Cougars squad. Having been part of the team to win the EBL in 2005.
Mark Shirley previously played for Baglan and has been an u.18's Welsh Cup winner.
Adam Williams is another West Wales Tropics stalwart to come across to the Cougars. An ever present in the Tropics Division 2 winning season of 2008/2009.
Alan Phillips is a highly experienced, fast player with a very solid all round game. Alan represented Wales at Welsh u.15, u.17 and u.19 age groups. Winning MVP awards at all age groups.
Joel Richards is an exciting young player who was the key player for Abervalley Hurricanes u.18's over the last couple of seasons. He also made a major impact in their senior side. He also played for ABC Gwent.
